Across Hwy 217 - 9.23 Miles
At 9.23 miles this is one of the longer runs on this web listing. I don't have time to do this run everyday but I've done it a few times and I really enjoy it. I kind of like heading across 217 without facing the traffic on most of the bridges and the neighboorhoods over there are pretty nice.
To do this run, head out on the
7 Dees
course, but this time continue on past 7 Dees. The route then works
it's way near the shopping mall and then crosses 217. There is some
traffic on this section but it is not too bad.
Crossing 217 heading out.
After crossing 217 the route turns into some nice
neighborhoods and eventually crosses Walker road. After crossing
Walker drop down another street and then take the right fork. This
will lead you to a smaller, less traffic, bridge which crosses 217
near a church.
Crossing 217 coming back.
As you cross 217 you then head down hill and go by the
Beaverton School District C.E. Mason building, home of the
Arts & Communications High School. If you seem some scary
looking kids hanging out there, don't worry they're probably mine.
C.E. Mason - Home of Arts & Communications Highschool
After passing C.E. Mason, there is a small bikepath to
the Center street park. This bikepath is easy to miss. Looke for the
sign and run up the bike path.
Easy to miss turn off for Center Street Park
Path heading to Center Street Park
The Park itself. The drinking fountain is at milepost 6.
After heading through the Center Street Park, the route
heads up to Walker Road. At Walker, head East - Away from Tek - and
cross the street at the stoplight.
Heading out on Walker, away from Tek. Cross at the light
The course then heads back to Tek along a small road. I like running on this road. There are some beautiful houses with stunning lots.
Look for the sheep on this run.
There are a couple of dogs by one house on this route. They're pretty big and they bark like crazy. There isn't a traditional fence, but I think there is an electronic fence because the dogs never head out into the road.
After crossing Cedar Hills the course heads back to tek along the same route as Extended CWP.
